Clinton College Grant Announcement

Clinton College Awarded a $400,000 Grant for Mental Health Promotion and Wellness Initiatives

Clinton College in Rock Hill, South Carolina, is excited to announce that the Wellness and Community Health Institute, or WACH, part of the South Carolina Institutes of Innovation and Information, has been awarded a $400,000 grant from the South Carolina Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare, a center of excellence at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine to support the college’s ongoing commitment to mental health promotion and holistic wellness on campus. This grant will fund innovative programs and expand existing initiatives to enhance our students’ well-being.

The grant will be used to:

  • Launch Mental Health and Stress Management Workshops: A series of workshops focused on building resilience, managing stress, and improving mental health awareness across campus.
  • Develop Peer Health Education Programs: A student-led initiative where trained peer educators will provide health and wellness resources, information on healthy habits, and support to fellow students.
  • Expand Access to Wellness Resources: Additional funding for counseling services, fitness programs, and nutrition counseling to ensure all campus community members have access to vital health services.

The grant aligns with Clinton College’s mission to foster a healthy, supportive, and inclusive environment for all. Good mental health is foundational to academic success. When students take care of their mental well-being, they can perform better academically, engage more fully in the learning process, and achieve a more balanced and fulfilling educational experience. The new initiatives will begin rolling out in the coming months; students and staff are encouraged to participate in these exciting programs.
